lesson on the cube
You take a piece of stone,
you carve it with a chisel made of blood,
you polish it with Homer’s eye,
and shine it even more with light,
until the cube is perfect.
Then you kiss the cube several times
with your mouth and the mouth of others
and especially with the mouth of an infant.
Then suddenly you take a hammer
and smash the corner of the cube,
Everybody, everybody will say:
— What a perfect cube this would have been
without a broken corner!
